How do i stop the chime alarm in my Caravan

i have a 1999 Dodge caravan and the chime in my car goes off whenever I start the car and stays on for five minutes regardless if the seatbelt is in or not. what is causing this and is there a way i can rid of the chime?

you may be able to find the little dinger and pull the wire off- try to listen carefully to Where the sound comes from in your dash- if you are lucky, there will be a lower dash panel that can be removed fairly easily, exposing the little gremlin- then you can kill it mercilessly-

I have had the same problem. usually caused by a door not closed good.

the chime is built into a circuit board thats part of the fuse box by the steering wheel inside the vehicle. it was actually very easy to disconnect the fuse box. remove the circuot board. once removed theres a black round piece w a hole in it. i ran a self tapping screw into it naking sure i didnt ruin the circuit board. put it all back together n no chime now
