Both the A/C and heat work fine temperature-wise. However, air will only come out the defroster vents. This started out as an intermittent problem but now happens all the time.

There is a vacuum line that runs across the top of the fire wall under the cowl in the engine bay... off of that line there is a line that feeds the HVAC controls, it probably broke and fell of. It's a pretty small line, maybe 1/4" in diameter.
Thanks. I found the line. Everything seems to be OK outside so the problem must be in the dash somewhere. I'll attack that next.
The vacuum is getting to the mode switch. I don't have the tools to measure its strength though. I'm thinking it's a stuck door or the switch itself. How easy is it to find the switches and how expensive are they?
the actuator for the direction damper located next to the gas pedal?
