i have 75 buick apollo and im trying to swap the motor out with a chevy 350. order some motor mounts for a 75 chevy nova but when i try to bolt the new 350 to the buick, the frame mounts does not match up

A chevey and a buick have different motor mounts. You would think because its GM that things would bolt up but they don't
The olds 350 is a big block to where the 350 chevey is a small block. Buick may be the same way
you have to use the whole nova setup frame AND block mount.
Wlogan: Do you mean to tell me that G.M. used different subrames under the different models of X-body, depending on which division plate was put on the car? What a waste of money that is! The original Apollo in this discussion was a V-8 car to start with, being that it had the little 260 to begin with. To put the Chevrolet 350 in would, I should have expected, would be pretty straight forward, with no need to change the subframe. Earlier in the life of the Apollo, the 350 was a factory option, so I would think that you should be good with that. I believe all the X-bodies used the Chev version of the 350, not the Pontiac, Buick or Olds, as they were all big blocks, and much more suited to a heavier car. You night also check on the Camaro engine mounts for the Chev 350, and make sure you get the ones specific to the 350, no the smaller V-8s.
Did you try the old mounts to see if they will work with the 350 sb chevy?
wlogan what are you talking about every time I buy motor mounts you get both fram and block side of the mounts
never seen that. you normally have to buy the 3 bolt steel plate that bolts to the block separate from the 4 bolt hole mount that bolts to the frame with the captured rubber. congratulations, you have everything you need then. whats the problem ?
wlogan where are you buying your parts? I go to carquest and orielie's and napa and I have allways got the full motor mount I have never in my years of back yard machanic seen them sold seperate
then why does your picture show you trying to install the motor with the plate on the motor and the buick/olds plate still bolted to the frame and no chevy plate bolted to the frame ? the plate with the rubber that the bolt goes through. did you read but not understand anything i asked or said in the private emails i sent you through this site ?
see oreilly web site. 1975 chevy nova, 5.7l V8 engine mount part #2292. where do you have this part bolted. 3 bolt plate for engine not incloded. your engine appears to have this plate bolted to the block.
it is not a nova. It's a buick
