faulty power locks

Power locks work when inside the car, however the key will not open the door.  It is just a standard key, not buttons.  I am locked out and cannot afford a locksmith as I just bought the car. Is there another way into the car, perhaps through the trunk?  Help!!! I really don't have $100.

If the key turns the lock and doesn't unlock. Then your lock rod from the ket to the latch has come off. If the key doesn't turn, they could just be siezed. You can spray white lithum grease in the key cylinder and let it sit overnight. OR you might have the wrong key for the door locks. If thats the case. You can get your self a wood wedge, and wedge it between the door frame and the body, then use a coat hanger or something like that to slide between where you have the wedge and press the power door lock button with it. Had to do the coat hanger when first got my chrysler concord because they key locks were siezed.
