Is it worth replacing my steering wheel to correct broken, decorative threads?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
The decorative threads on my steering wheel are broken in one place. The only way to
correct this is to replace the entire steering wheel. Is this worth it or just asking for
trouble because of all of the other things that are associated with the steering wheel?

depends upon your mechanical knowledge and your confidence in that knowledge.
I won't be doing it, the car is still under warranty and it will be done by the dealer.
Since it's under warranty, the VW Dealer will change out the steering wheel and make certain that buttons for cruise control, radio control, etc on the wheel are working properly. I think you'll be just fine :)
When you begin to think about changing steering wheels, don't forget that you will be dealing with an Air Bag, something best left to profesionals
