My Jeep Compass tire light is on.

Asked by lindaw138 Jan 06, 2015 at 12:15 PM about the 2013 Jeep Compass Latitude 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have filled the air in the tires 5 times... could this be a slow leak.  If so, will I have to replace the tire?  I had another tire issue and they said they couldn't fix the tire so I had to purchase another for $350.  Are these tires flimsy?  I have owned jeep sports and never had to replace tires.

Not sure where you're located, but often cold weather will cause a leak between the rim and tire. Rim might just need to be wire brushed with the Tire off of it. Also problem could be with the Tire Pressure Sensor, that might need replacing if nothing is wrong with the tire. Recommend a Discount Tire to have them look at it, NOT a dealership. Hope this helps.

Constantly letting the pressure out . Rotated the tires and the same location did it as well. Have been in the habit of airing up this tire every couple of weeks. I am a low mileage driver. Frustrated.

Sometimes wheels are porus. Have your tire shop dunk the tire and wheel in the tank.
