Will a 46RE work in a 1998 dodge dakota slt 5.2 V8, pick up?

I have the truck and the
transmission is blown. I
got a 46RE out of a 2000
dodge van with a 360.
Will this transmission
work with my truck?

what transmission did your truck have originally? the 46re was used in the Dakota at the time behind the 5.2 and 5.9 v8's.

I'm not sure what the original transmission is. It is a smaller automatic with all the same electronic connections. I don't know how to identify it.
