Camshaft synchro

I have a 2004 ford ranger that recently read po340
failing sensor,  is it just the sensor that needs to be
replace or the whole part?!

Just because you have code P0340 does not mean the sensor is necessarily bad, but that there is a problem in that circuit. Could be a wiring issue, could be the sensor, could be something else. Take it to a qualified mechanic and avoid throwing parts at it.

the whole assy. should be replaced,you will also need the alignment tool to install the sensor properly.
