Stalls out while driving. It will suddenly(and sometimes just for a sec and keeps going) seem like its not getting gas, turn its self off(all the lights on dash come on but engine is shut down).

The fuel pump sounds like its still running and when i press down on gas petal
it sounds like its still taking gas. Any help? Ive been trying to figure it out for a
year now and none of my mechanics wanna try anymore because their
sissys.

I don't blame the mechanics! I lifted the hood on one, and closed it. Z cars are awesome, but they're their own special breed. Try googling z car specialists. They do exist, and they can get your baby back purring like a z does so well.

here a some things you could try think I had similar problem. check the O2 sensor and all vacuum lines. Try it with O2 sensor unpluged it will run rich but it wont stall.

I had the very same issue with mine, Checked several things out...all but the fuel filter. I replaced that and it seems to have corrected it.

I have the same problem on a 1988 Nissan 300ZX. I'm driving along and the engine dies abruptly as if I were to turn off the ignition switch and then turn it back on turns off turns on maybe a second maybe two seconds maybe three but it always restarts and it may immediately stall again or it may run for a while? Did you ever find the problem on your car that was causing this same symptom?
