I have 2013 ford explorer and its leaking coolant near the ac compressor. I know the have a inter water pump and are gear driven. I cleaned off the area around the ac compressor. It has the 3.5l v6 motor

My guess is the thermostat housing or gasket is leaking or maybe the upper radiator hose is leaking near the engine.
do you know where the housing is located near
Did you ever find out where the leak was coming from? Have the same leak on 16 explorer
I have the same leak, did anyone find the leak point
The thermostat housing is on the other side of the engine (driver's). More than likely it is the water pump that is beginning to fail. It has a weep hole just above and behind the alternator. The problem is the pump is chain driven inside of the engine. So, if it fails, coolant will flood the engine and could possibly cause catastrophic damage. A new pump installed is costing around 1600-2000.00. The labor is what costs soo much. Mine is beginning to fail and it really sucks. It only has 87k on it. Now I can't drive it until I can either spend the time and fix it myself or save up for the repair cost. I'm scared of driving it because I dont want to kill the engine.
I have the same problem, and the leak is a little freeze plug

My 2011 Ford Explorer is leaking from this same spot really bad it just happened out of nowhere I was driving in it made a loud pop noise then it start to lose power and leaking antifreeze really bad. this the first time I have ever had a problem with it could it be my water pump?
I have the same issue to my 2013 Ford Explorer V6. Several weeks ago began seeing radiator fluid during cold and parking. After investigating, found the leak dripping above the ac condensor unit, location of the water pump. Spoke with several dealers to receive little to no assistance. Only estimates of 2000 up to 3500 from three seperate Ford Dealerships. Makes no since, to have a 120 dollar part cost this amount of money. My vehicle only has 90,000 miles and all maintanence performed at 5,000 mile intervals. Anyone in Lakewood, California have a honorable contact to assist with the repair? Thx much Tim Clark
Found on 2013 3.5 coolant on ac compressor. it was coming from freeze plug above and to the left on oil pressure sensor on block. Will try Bar's Leaks 24 hour flush and seal process to see if it takes care of it.
That is not a freeze plug behind your air conditioning compressor. That is the weep hole for your water pump. Because the water pump is connected to the timing chain a standard we pull in the water pump would dump water into your crank case / oil. Instead the weep hole is plumbed out of the block and dumps out at the air conditioning compressor. Your water pump is failing and if it is not replaced it will eventually contaminate your engine oil and potentially destroy your engine.
This is water pump failure. Please look into getting it fixed before it takes out your whole engine.
