Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 97 Dakota has had an oil pressure gauge issue, since I bought it a year

OIL PRESSURE SENDING UNIT I say that because I’m my experience oil pump would mean no pressure at all period meaning engine failure but since being able to drive smoothly. the oil pressure sending unit/regulator on the other hand will make the dash portion not work that is where I would start that’s what solved my problem hope it helps someone
