Where can the transmission output shaft speed sensor be
located on my 2012 vw passat?

Your car being a front wheel drive vehicle, I'm not sure it would have an output shaft speed sensor because the output of the transaxle is transmitted to the wheels by the CV axle and joint. A transmission output shaft is usually found on rear wheel drive vehicles, and it connects to a drive shaft which connects to the differential. But your vehicle likely has some kind of speed sensor to run the speedometer, cruise control and ABS. It's probably near one of the CV joints.

Thanks! I actually have the output sensor just need to replace it I'll look closey by the cv joints the car does have wheel speed sensor but the oss is what's fualty
