Cruise control operation.

Asked by south4girl Sep 12, 2014 at 11:05 AM about the 2013 Honda CR-V EX-L FWD

Question type: General

The cruise control on my CRV does not work properly.  Once I set the speed, the mileage drops 4 - 5 mph before kicking in.  The mechanic at the Honda dealer had no satisfactory answer; just said to press on the accelerator.  I'm not talking just about inclines; the same thing happens everywhere.  I live at the coast where there are very few hills.  I have 22,000 miles on this car and want this corrected b4 the warranty expires. I never had this problem on my old CRV which I drove for 8 years.

Some car,s have a short delay, before they kick in the cruize, but it should go back to the speed you set it at,if it dosn,t then yes there is a problem.

Perhaps I didn't pose the question correctly. I don't have a problem setting the cruse control. I do have a problem maintaining the set mph.

Doe,s it vary more than 5 mile per hour?If it doe,s it may be the speed sensor, may be bad,it tells, your ecm, what speed it set on cruize.

This is the best answer yet. I think it maybe the speed sensor due to the number of miles it drops before kicking in. Thanks.
