I just ran out of gas in my 1986 Nissan 300ZX today and when I put gas in it it gets up to 22 rpms and wants to go back down until I step on the gas peddal again , what is wrong?

You may have a plugged up fuel filter. All the year's of accumulated crud got sucked into the fuel lines. Hopefully not the injectors.
