I have a 1987 Nissan pulsar I have changed the fuel pump as well as the fuel filter I can hear the pump come on. What else can cause my car not to start

Have you check the fuel pressure? You may have changed the pump you but may still have no pressure. Do you have spark, if not check your coil packs, wires...

Thanks will do. Also would the ecu have anything to do with it. Because it did start one time after changing everything once I turn the car off it would start
