I have a 1996 Dodge Neon. I checked my water in my car an it was good. Went for a drive I drove like 20 miles an had to yield an as I slowed down my car started making a noise like as if there was no water in it. I let it cool an put just a little more water in theradiator turned the car back on and drove like 10 miles an it started making that noise an white smoke started coming from underneath the Hood. I check the thermostat an it was open. I put a new water pump in it about 6 months ago. The radiator is ok. What can be the problem with my car over heating? 2 Answers

We just purchased a used 1995 Dodge Neon and we are having problems with it. The problem is the car will drive for approximately 15 to 20 minutes and the engine begins to jump and miss. When this occurs, we stop the car and let it cool for 10 to 15 minutes and then it will go for about 8 miles (10 to 15 minutes) and will start missing and jumping again. We took it to advance auto and they used a computer diagnostic machine and told us the ignition coil was malfunctioning, so we replaced it but it is still doing the same thing (missing and jumping). My wife says she smells a gas/fuel smell when it starts. Also, thought I had water in the gas tank, so I used dry gas but that didn't help either. Do the 1995 Neon's have a particular problem that sounds like mine? Thank you for any help you can give. 5 Answers
