These little trucks hold value very well and are reliable. Make sure its not been ragged out and everything works. $2500 is about the average for them that year in very good condition, so if its anything less than very good condition I would either get it down on price or look for another good one. They come up for sale less often than others. They will hold their own off road.

Negotiate further to about 2k or less. Certain spare parts for these old models are difficult to find even if their engines are very reliable and easy to repair.

If the truck drives good then it is probably a fair deal. I would take it on a long test drive to make sure it does not overheat or have other issues.
