V8 in a 1984 Land Cruiser?

Question type: Car Customization
I am looking to buy a old Land Cruiser, one I am looking at is a 1984, but it says that it
has a V8 engine. Must be a replacement, right? Is this not a good idea to purchase?

Depends on what your looking for. Most v-8 cruisers are LS conversions. Guys buy cruisers for their capabilities and reputation, then drop 350's in them for ultimate power! IMHO, it ruins them. Old cruisers are setup like military vehicles: low horsepower, high torque, short gears. You don't slip and spin offroad, you just go. Drop a v-8 into that mix, you find yourself digging ruts and burying diffs and doors. Stupid. They think race cars and offroaders have something in common. Besides, Toyota 2f's, 2h's, and 12ht's are LEGENDARY for reliability and longevity.... Can the same be said for Chevy products? Ever saw a 350 v-8 with 480,000 miles without a rebuild? Most 2f's will do that with proper maintenance and driving habits.
