Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 95 dakota v6 automatic. The transmission
was giving me problems shifting a couple of days
ago. I put it in drive and it goes through first gear,
but after that nothing happens and it wont move.
The tranny whines a little bit but after first gear it
decides not to move. Help.

I just had this transmission placed into the truck only 4 days ago from my old 94 v6 dakota. The machanic replaced all lost fluid and filter. And on friday the transmission gave me the problems on the way to my dads. The first signs of problems was when i passed 4 semi trucks on the highway. It didnt want to downshift first and it stayed into high gear. But i finally got it into 1st and now it wont go past it.
