Ford Bronco II starting problems

Asked by GuruLVD2P Mar 31, 2019 at 01:56 AM about the 1986 Ford Bronco II XLT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 1986 Bronco II is having starting problems!  I
can pull the map sensor hose loose an it will start
right up...but if you try to reconnect the hose it will
die.  If I start with the map sensor loose it begins
to run a little rough until it warms up...then I can
reconnect the sensor hose and it runs great!  Why
want it start without removing the sensor hose?
Somebody please help!

Instead of unhooking the hose, unplug the connector to see if it makes a difference to try to rule out if its actually the sensor or if all your doing is introducing more air that cant get past per se a dirty throttle body/iac
