The spout connector is a small grey or black adapter plugged into a connector near the distributor. It should be hanging loose somewhere near the base of the distributor. You pull this adapter out of the connector to disable the timing advance system built into the module so you can set base timing. Once base timing has been set you plug the spout connector back in, turn off the vehicle. Then restart it to let the module take over the timing advance duties.
