battery cross wired and the wires melted what should i do?

im 17 so i know nothing but my 88 bronco 2 xlt  got the battery crosswired by
my father and the wires melted what should i do

Damaged wiring needs to be replaced, check all the fuses, have the alternator tested and have the ignition module tested. Then hope for the best.

I completely agree with Bob. It will be pretty hard to replace all the wiring so I would do some research and try to find the cheapest place to do it right the first time.

Replace the battery too. It's most likely ruined. Hope that helps! Jim
