2003 ford escape v6

My car marks it's over heating but I look under the
hood nothing leaking or the coolant not boiling but
the radiator is cold the fan s work y does it do that

Is the over flow tank filled to the proper mark. You may have some air in the system and it will need to be burped, also check to see if your radiator cap is working ok...
