Idle issues

recently bought used. 158,000 miles. 3.0 motor. DOHC. Stalling and idle issues. Stalled the other day. would start but not idle. Let sit couple hours. Ran fine for 2 days. Won't idle. Drove a couple of miles. Now idling high at 1200 rpm. Any ideas?

mine was doing the same thing.replaced the map sensor and the throttle position sensor.fixed it right up.hope this is helpfull.

Thanks. Mechanic friend of mine checked the car out. The Throttle position sensor is not working. Determined it was the PCM. You can unplug the TPS and the car still runs and drives fine. Still idles high though.
