Question type: General

Hi all, my temp gauge on my porshe, goes really
close to bottom of red mark in traffic....but of
course when I start movin, it goes down...is that
normal for these cars....
Second, car has no balls on take off, but on the
highway its very quick...is that how these cars are
designed, or there could be an issue...checked my
marks, ok....how can I advance timing on these
engines....feels like there is no rev out of this
motor, feels dead until I go on the highway...help
me please...thanks Anthony..

for the porshe.... The reason the temp gauge goes down when you are moving is because there is air moving through and the fan kicks on. check your anti freeze and if that's is ok... try replacing your thermostat.

Recheck your marks when at TDC. Also, the belt tensioner may need new gaskets. An oil leak here can cause timing problems. The fan should be kicking on sooner, so also check or replace the fan switch. Performance Products in Calif offers a lower temperature switch.

Try looking at the rear of the radiator on the top drivers side. Screws in and usually has 2 or 3 prongs. 928's are notorious to work on, you probably will have to remove some of the intake duct to see the switch.

MTA, the reason she's sluggish at takeoff, is because of the second gear starts that the auto's do, you can buy a cheap kickdown cable that will allow you to take off in first.
