I have a 1993 dodge dakota with 3.9 v6 took wife to work got in drive way and it just died I sat there trying to crank it and all..I got a gas jug and but 4 gallons of gas we finnally got it to crank

Got about 4 miles down road it died
again it's a 5 speed and going down
hill it wouldn't start back up in 3rd
either sat for a min it started up it
done this about 6 times till I finnally
called tow truck u could smell gas
but no leaks I got it home and
replaced fuel filter it had black stuff in
lines idk what it is but it still won't run
I'll try 6 or 7 times turning key on and
off a few times it will start finnally I'll
give it half throttle will run for about
10 seconds and shut off please help
me

There is another fuel filter on the fuel pump going by what you said the filter looked like that bad the filter in the fuel tank with the fuel pump needs to be changed and possibly clean out gas tank.

Thank you and that's what a friend told me also... I'll probably just have to replace whole fuel pump system since I have to take the bed off and fuel gauge don't work but low gas light does
