I have a strong smell of gas coming from the back of my Ford Crown Victoria 2000 but I not sure where it is coming from exactly?

The smell is even stronger when I open my trunk up.

Or... You or the P.D. may have screwed something into the top of the tank. There are manuals that specify where to mount equipment, how long the screws must be, etc. For example, If you mounted a subwoofer box up on the deck you where the spare goes, you more than likely ruptured the tank. Check everything you've been told here.

Same problem here on a 1998 grand marquis I just bought with 166,000 miles on it. Also the idle starts failing after about 10-15 seconds waiting at a light so I have to put it in neutral and rev engine so doesn’t die
