No overdrive/high gear

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2003 crown Victoria (not a PI). It shifts in all gears
but when it goes into high gear/overdrive it feels like it's in
neutral. If I drive without overdrive, it drives as normal but
no high gear. I dont have any codes nor is the overdrive
light blinking.

My question is if its truly the transmission or likely the shift
solenoid.

Thanks in advance

Sounds like the solenoid is bad or maybe it's stuck. I would start with a visual inspection of the solenoid to see if it is stuck. If not, then replace.
