Car will not crank or start after doing power window repair

Asked by Dhnhwd May 20, 2014 at 01:13 AM about the 1988 Mercedes-Benz 560-Class 560SEL Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was fixing the power window when the electrical leads in the up/down switch came out
and made contact. After fixing the window, everything seems to be working just fine.  The
windows work and when I turn the key on, all electrical devices come on.  But, when key
is turned to crank position, the car will not crank.  Fuses all seem to be fine.  All other
electrical seems fine.  What broke?

1 Answer

Problem Solved. Turns out that the battery was really low to begin with and leaving the doors open for so long when doing the repairs and testing the windows drained it.
