start by removing the 2 plastic covers on the lower dash trays just below steering columnremember these pull out on 1 side then they have a tab on the other side to slide out then you will find 3 phillip head screws and on the very bottom there are 2 plastic lock screws underneath the dash you should be able to remove the lower cover then you will see a large black round hard plastic air duct going from the console to the drivers side door there are 2 large nuts holding the outside housing to rubber door vent remove after that you remove the plastic vent should be able to access the ignition switch you can only remove the plug when it is in lock position ounce unplugged there are three phillip head screws once removed switch put new one in and reverse order it is a pain to get everything back together simpler let a shop do it if they break 1 of the plastic caps let them pay it is about 1 hour labor so if you buy the part about $90 in labor depending or hour shop rate

shop told me an easier way is to remove the the air bag steering wheel and dash cluster and you can reach in and have a little easier access to back of ignition they quoted 2 hours labor 1 hour to remove and 1 hour to install new switch $300.00 for labor
