How could my battery capacity DOUBLE???

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

After my car went in for 2 weeks and over $9,000 in front end body work,
mostly cosmetic and some frame straightening after I hit a piece of a truck's tire
on the highway at 70 mph, my battery capacity almost doubled to 14 or even 15
miles. It's been approx. 8 miles when fully charged steadily for the past 50,000
miles. HOW is this possible?

It could have been when the car was fixed that any grounds that got removed were cleaned up..battery performance really gets effected by temperature change the most. A super hot battery will struggle just like a super cold battery. Also stuff like tire pressure will effect range along with keeping ur car clean on the outside

My 2012 PIP was just in for the recall replacement of a relay in the hybrid system. Prior to going in I was seeing the display indicating 8.3 miles on a full charge (SOC was showing 85). Upon coming home and charging the car now shows 13.8 miles with SOC at 85. Two more charging cycles and I'm still seeing 13.8! So I tested it by driving in EV from the same point which normally would eat up 5.2 miles from the battery. My EV range went from 9 down to 3.4. I was quite happy.
