Question type: Maintenance & Repair

solenoid clicks, no engine crank. replaced solenoid and starter (starter was shot, slow or no crank while free). battery is showing 12.5 volts. lights  etc come on normal, not dim. ground cable is in old shape, cracked, corroded. will this cause no crank or are there relays or fusible links I need to find?

It still could be the starter. Starter rebuilders normall only replace parts that are bad so you are actually buying a used starter if you bought a rebuilt one. Buy a remanufactured or brand NEW starter. rebuilt starters are sometimes no better than what you had already depending on the vendor that rebuilds them for your parts store. Take it back off and take it back and have them load test it. also check your wiring too first. you might have a bad connection somewhere. Good luck, Kenny / MrBlueOval
