Replaced ignition cylinder cranks but have to hold key in on position to keep engine running What is problem?

ok it wire is not traviling far enough now here is what you do under the dash on top of the steering column there is a ignition switch I have added a photo it has two size 8mm or 10 mm bolts that hold it in place and the switch needs to be adjusted altille up twards the steering wheel
