Belt on 92 Dodge Dynasty

Asked by tinaJW May 18, 2010 at 02:55 PM about the 1992 Dodge Dynasty 4 Dr LE Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The belt on my Dynasty is slipping off in the rain and snow.  Is this typical? Has there been a recall on it?  It looks as though a pully doesn't have a groove.

Your belt tensioner is probably worn out/loose. Try checking the functionality of your tensioner.

The wheel on the newer tensioners are smooth, with no sides or grooves, so that might be normal if its what you are seeing. My belt gets a little squeaky in in the rain every now and then, but its no big deal, try just tightening the belt.
