Engine dying at startup

Asked by tmrayer Sep 13, 2011 at 02:55 PM about the 2003 Ford Focus SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2003 ford focus SE, vehicle turns over and will run for about few second then just dies. While doing that, the red light next to the hazards is flashing. After doing this one or twice am able to keep the engine running gunning the engine a little and then afterwards it runs just fine. I thought this was related to my air conditioning system that I just got fixed, but my mechanic said no way, it's something to do with the secuirty system of the vehicle. Any ideas what the heck it would be?
