Blue Smoke is Oil /Black Smoke, you likely running very rich/White Smoke may be coolant{Water} > you need to check your Oil for traces of Coolant{Water} & your Coolant for traces of Oil. > Coolant in the Oil will leave a Milky residue, Oil in Coolant may also be Milky, or Black streaks. > You may need a to check the Head Gasket, then check to see if your Head is Warped. > Are you using Digifant Fuel injection or CIS ?
Is the white smoke all the time or just when starting up? Is it a bluish white? It's not going to be gas. Does it smell like oil or is it a sweet smell? It could be a leaking head gasket, you could be burning oil or it could need maintenance like pcv valve. http://www.freeasestudyguides.com/exhaust-color.html
