1992 dodge stealth

Asked by Ron Feb 13, 2016 at 09:24 PM about the 1992 Dodge Stealth ES FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1992 dodge stealth. Rebuilt engine and
transmission. The car ran great! The engine purred. Pick
up was great. A pure joy to drive. Then it started to act up.
First, after sitting over night, the engine began to start
hard. Once warmed up, it would start easy. Then it would
start even harder in the morning and then it started hard
even when the engine was warmed up.  Now, it won't
start at all.  I took it to two Dodge Dealers, but they told
me they don't have the tools or knowledge to make
repairs.  I do know that the fuel relay and fuel pump are
good.  The engine is new, but the distributor and coil are
original.  The coil isn't producing a spark. No spark at the
spark plugs.  No fuel is getting to the engine.  The battery
is new.  I've invested a lot of money in this car.  Please
help.  Any suggestions?   Ron

I would start by taking the ignition control module and the coil to Auto Zone and have them test these. Check the cap and rotor for cracks and burnt spots. Looks like there is an ignition igniter there also.
