The second-generation was 1983–1992. The bumpers should be the same.

I believe the Cabbies remained with a MK1 chassis for some time... lemme check Busdepot.com Partnumber: 171 807 305A Fits following: Cabriolet 1985–1993 Dasher 1974–1977 Golf 1985–1992 Jetta 1980–1992 Rabbit •Convertible 1979–1984 •Hatchback 1975–1984 You might be able to use that MK2 bumper...but I believe the end caps will be different.

the golf is a bit wider than the rabbit or cabrio, to use it you will have to do major surgery.
