Is there a simple way to remove the clap from the lower radiator hose?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My lower radiator hose is leaking where the hose connects to the heat exchange tube at the top of the radiator.  The hose looks okay but because it is leaking I need to change it.  The hose is held on by spring clamps and the engine side clamp is facing the wheel well and I cannot get a pair of pliers on it.  Any suggestions on how to get to it without removing other things?

vice grips work great in my experience. just place it over the ends of the hose clamp and tighten as needed with pliers until the hose clamp is loose enough to move.
