They are two different generations, 2003 is an MK1, 2006 is an MK2, but with largely the same suspension. Check online parts suppliers, if same strut can work on both models then you're good to go. Personally I wouldn't reuse a strut unless I was certain is was low mileage.

I just put them in the 03 two weeks ago along with new linkage stabilizer links lower control arms on front and back and new Springs in the back along with brakes routers shoes and hold down kit for the brakes drums all new I got to know if they got to fit in that I think the only difference is is the 03 doesn't have abs and I think the struts have that bracket for the ABS on the 06 I hope they fit save me a lot of money and redoing everything again
