Check the fuel pressure, sounds like fuel pump may be going bad.
Thanks,,,But I really don't think it's my fuel pump b/c when I try starting it I can hear the fuel pump cut on..Anything else you suggest I need to check?
Sign that it lead,s to bad fuel pump,is when it heat,s up it will stop pumping.

From 1984 to 1988, this was a common indication of the TFI (Thin Film Ignition module), mounted on the side of our distributors, failing. Properly replace it and do NOT skip adding the dielectric grease else you'll be in this same situation again shortly thereafter.
My was shuting off my Ignition switch I had the hold the key on a little bit not quite turn it over but on to keep the car running Change the Ignition switch in the column and problem is fixed
