I have a 2003 Ford Focus ZTW Wagon with the larger of the 4 cylinder engines. Does it have a timing belt or a timing chain? I have been told two different things.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Water pump has gone out and I was told the timing belt had to be replaced at the same time. When I called the parts houses, to compare prices, I was told it had a timing chain by one and a timing belt by the other.
