Electrical issue

Asked by TylerB78 Dec 11, 2013 at 11:35 PM about the 1985 Chevrolet Caprice Classic Sedan RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1985 Chevy Caprice Classic 305 5.0. My head lights, radio, heater, interior lights
and horn stopped working the other day. Oddly enough, my tail lights and blinkers still
work. I checked every fuse and none were blown. I am very unsure where to look to find
the issue. Car runs and the wipers too btw. Where do I start, so I'm not paying out the
ass for someone else to fix it.

NO...this is simple....the battery Black cable clamp is on one end...the other end of the cable has a lug...this lug is bolted to the chassis....WIrebrush the lug....wirebrush the chassis and bolt them back together...also insure the connection of the 1/0 cable near the alternator is solid for the startermotor too~ yes the chassis ground is most important from this very important spot~

You may have a mouse issue. Look at all the wires under the hood and check for any evidence of any chewed wires. Happened to me.
