Question type: General
I'm thinking of buying a used car, a 2014 Mazda CX-5 but its been in an
accident. I checked out the car proof, and there was an accident 2 years
ago
with a cost of 15,000$ worth of repairs (right rear side)
I test drove the vehicle, seems to be fine.
car is being sold by a mazda certified dealer.
Should I consider this vehicle or walk away?
Thanks

I would not buy it until you find out more about the repairs. Take it to another Mazda dealer and a reputable body shop too.

I think it depends on how much are they asking and if it say structural damage on carfax? If it is close market value, you should just pass it. if the vehicle had structural damage, most of new car dealers will not take your vehicle for trade in. Also used car dealers will low balance you because of history. If you are planning to keep a long time and if it is good deal, it might worth.

Thanks to all your answers, seems like its too big a risk to take. An inspection by an independent garage may give me a better idea of the condition of the car. If it was a minor fender bender, I could overlook it, but an accident totaling 15k is too much.
