are the 2015 mustang transmissions still made in China or did they realize what a bad decision that was?

Asked by cargurussucks Jul 01, 2015 at 09:40 PM about the 2014 Ford Mustang GT Coupe RWD

Question type: General

I BOUGHT A 2014 MUSTANG GT, with a SIX SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION.  The
weakness in the vehicle is the poorly designed transmission, which, after three years
and 36k, will all start to fail as the Chinese make their parts to last as long as the base
warranty, and not more.  If you don't believe me, ask FIAT-ALLIS whose first big change
upon buying the company was to move ownership's purchasing of bolts from Aerian
bolts to chinese made, American used bolts.   The second container shipment was
loaded with boarded boxes of 1 inch to 14 inch bolts.  All bolts, s3 or G3 through S9-G9
tested as s3-g3. meaning, all bolts that were meant to stand up to the most rigerous,
most trying of tests, were made not of high quality moly and chromium, and other
metals additives that made the steel.   Two school bus accidents the winder of 73/74,
killed 3 and 9 students and seriously injured 29 and a similar numbers in the second
accident.  But, before they were given the appreciation, of  tests revealing moving from
USA made to CHINA made, they were beaten to death in prison.  Guards moved to
stopped the well screen actions.  They moved slowly as some of them also had kids in
schools that rode those buses.  Most of the drive trains in Colorado public school buses
were ALLIS-CHALMERS Diesels.    I HOPE THE MONEY THEY SAVED IN THE NEW
BOLTS SAVED FOR SIX MONTHS, WAS WORTH LOSING THE DECADES LONG
TRUST THEY HAD BUILT UP BEFORE FIAT BOUGHT THEM.

Just about all parts, for ford and other american cars are made in china and imported in,china can make them cheaper, than americans , didnt say this good thing, but maybe ameircan automotives need to wake up,and keep our money here.

As good as the new Mustang looks, it would be a damn shame if they used cheap quality Chinese parts in it. This question (although it's a very good one) would probably be better suited for a Mustang enthusiast online group/website.....but maybe we've got some 'Stang loyalists here.

How do you know the transmission will last only 3 years? That car is only 1 year old? Perhaps just making a statement regarding China? This is not the place for that, we are here to answer questions regarding car problems.

Bob that is a car problem...anything involving China is junk...history that is of utmost importance. Thanks to all regarding education and information ..do not support China products or you will have no jobs left in usa nor good products. And broke down Mustangs.

Yes, the MT82 Manual Transmissions in the 2015 and later Mustangs were made in China and they were shipped in. Believe me, I am not happy about that and the things I read. Ford did a major upgrade on the MT82 Transmissions in the 2018 and 2019 Mustangs that supposedly addresses the durability issues. I have a 2018 Mustang GT as my Daily Driver, so I hope that is true. Time will tell.
