AC only works on one side

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Recently the AC only works on the passenger side of my
truck, driver side only blows out heat, even if it's set at A/C.
What can be the cause of this?

@Rdean007 Hey, yea dealership told me the temp door actuator was broken which prevents the air from coming to that side, if you don't have the mopar warranty it's 571 to repair

mine is doing the same thing and that's a shit ton of money to fix that. Think I could do it myself after watching a YouTube video?

My 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee is also doing this. I had no idea until I was in the passenger seat today and it was 95 degrees outside. I have had passengers all summer and no one had ever said anything to me about it so I have no idea if it just started today or earlier in the year.

It's the piece of shit blend door actuators and/or mesh gears they use to open and close the blend doors. The actuator has a half-radius keyed gear which mates up to the half-radius keyed gear on the blend door itself. Both the actuator internals, the gear and blend door gear are made of absolute CRAP! I've changed them in the wife's Jeep GC twice in a year (both sides)! Yes, u can change them yourself BUT they don't always "sink" up, to make left and right sides do the same thing (heat/AC). YouTube vids tell you to disconnect the battery and discharge the system, reconnect the battery and u will hear the doors and climate control go thru the relearn cycles. Again, it doesn't always work. Which is where I'm at RIGHT NOW. In the car, 11pm and just finished installing the new blend door gear. Yes, , reycled the system to relearn and still have hot air on The driver's side and AC on the passenger side. Anyway, next step is to pay the dealer $50- $100 to reflash the climate circuit to make them pair up again. Good luck alll! If you drive a late model Mopar you are just one plastic Gizmo away from a pile of shit! 68' Charger 11' Challenger RT 11' Jeep Grand Crap-Cherokee
