Low Oil Pressure and Check Engine Light both are on

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We just had our 2014 fiat 500L trekking oil changed yesterday for her scheduled maintenance and today both the low oil pressure light and check engine light came on as I was driving.  I am hoping it is due to something perhaps the guys at the service center missed or put back incorrectly and not something major like major engine or oil pump issues.

Yes indeed! Check the oil level on the dipstick and don't drive it if you can't get a reading on the dipstick!! Then call the shop who did the oil change and let them tow it in and fix it for free!! This could be very serious!! Hope that helps! Jim

Thank you! Okay, so we brought it back to the shop we had the oil changed at and apparently cylinder 1 & 3 are throwing codes? I'm trying to research now what exactly that might mean but tomorrow we will call the dealership to schedule a day/time to have them take a look and find out what's going on. My husband said the guy at the service center said that the engine is not being strained but I think this may be a bigger issue than what they are telling us. Any thoughts or suggestions?

I would check the coils on those two cylinders. Make sure something didn't get unplugged by accident during the oil change. Hope that helps! Jim
