Why does my 2014 chevy impala roll in gear on a incline after taking foot off of brake

Asked by GuruCCH5 Apr 12, 2017 at 07:37 PM about the 2014 Chevrolet Impala 1LT FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

This happens if I'm pointed uphill or downhill. I've been told this is normal. Is that even possibly true?

Yes this is true, with the engine at idle and in drive or reverse, and your on an incline, the vehicle will roll in gear. The transmission works on oil pressure, at a idle there is no transmission oil pressure to make it move.
