My 2014 kia forte shutoff while driving trough high water and will not start it tries but wont any ideas

Battery is good it tries to crank just wont

You will have to let it dry out for a little while,water may have hit plugs and wires and other electronic parts,give it a little while should dry out and be ok.

If you're lucky, just some water in the distributor cap- do these cars still HAVE distributor caps?? I'm confused.........

Nope Jamnblues,only coil packs,but for us old schoolers like me and you,that would be the first thing to check.
