I've just been told I need 2 head gaskets and a timing belt change on a 2012 Jeep Liberty. The dealer estimate is 6000 plus. The car has 62,600 miles on it, I've had it less than 2 years and I've I've paid more than 10,000 on it so far and owe about 5,700. Should I repair it? Thanks

That's your call, but I would say no. I'd take my money and use it as a downpayment on a better vehicle. 63k miles and you're looking at head gaskets already? That's one I'd ditch.

Agree with @Auto_Adrenaline above, 60k miles with head gasket issues is not worth the headache and may be an indicator of potential future issues, just get something better. I own a 2011 Liberty with 65k miles and have not had any head gasket issues, so its not something common or known. If you REALLY want to keep the car, do this: Go to at least 2-3 INDEPENDENT mechanics to get not just quotes, but also a different opinion. Dealer mechanics get paid WAY more per hour than reputable independent mechanics, so you're already going in there ready to be hit with a more inflated bill regardless. Hope this helps! Frank

You can get a new engine placed in there for less than that it sounds like it's a dealer who's trying to screw you very unlikely with that few miles it needs a timing
